Description
Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Manager plays a key leadership role within the Finance team of a global manufacturing organization. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data, supporting month-end and year-end closes, overseeing the accounts payable team, and driving continuous process improvements. The ideal candidate has strong SAP experience, demonstrates a hands-on approach, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. Experience as an SAP project lead or in ERP transitions (e.g., S/4HANA) is an asset.
Responsibilities
• Supervise and mentor two Accounts Payable Clerks, ensuring balanced workloads, accuracy, and timely deliverables.
• Standardize accounting processes, documentation, and internal workflows.
• Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts, including actuals and foreign currency requirements.
• Manage EFT, ACH, wire payments, banking transactions, and remittances across multiple entities.
• Complete FX analysis, realized/unrealized reporting, and monthly currency revaluations.
• Oversee month-end close activities for multiple entities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate sub-ledger to general ledger balancing for AR, AP, intercompany, GR/IR, and key accounts.
• Complete monthly and year-to-date FX reporting and reasonability reviews.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and local regulations.
• Leverage SAP to improve accounting visibility, accuracy, automation, and controls.
• Act as a key finance contact for system enhancements, ERP/SAP upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
• Lead or support special projects, including sub-ledger/GR/IR cleanup, ACH/EHT batch setup, archiving, and records management.
• Coordinate cross-border movement of company assets, including vehicles and equipment.
• Assist with investigations, reconciliations, and financial analysis projects as assigned.
Qualifications
• CPA designation (or in final stages of completion) preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibility.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP (FICO module essential; project lead experience a strong asset).
• Experience in a manufacturing and multi-entity environment.
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven track record of process improvement and ERP integration success.
