The beautiful Andean Cordillera Oriental mountain range was the back drop on Saturday afternoon for the opening of a new hatchery by Inversiones Eldorado S.A.S. in Sicamota , Santander , Colombia. Local dignitaries, company executives and guests were on hand to celebrate the launch of the state of the art operation. The facility will have a capacity to produce 440,000 chicks a week and plans are already in the works for an expansion to double that output. The first hatch of broiler chicks will be breaking out mid March.

The operation features Jamesway Incubator Company equipment and profiles their Platinum 2.0 single-stage machines. The site includes 12 Platinum 120 Incubators and 8 P30 Hatchers. The entire building has been outfitted to the highest standards and the facility is one of the most modern in the industry.
